Colombia Packing Essentials

As I prepare for the Colombia retreat, there are some items I just can’t forget and you shouldn’t either. This isn’t a list of the obvious things like passport, multiple outfits, and phone. But essentials you will be happy you packed.

• Permethrin Spray: Bug repellent without a smell that can go on clothes.

• Pain Medicine: I usually have Advil or Tylenol.

• Anti-Diarrhea medicine: Better to be prepared for the new bacteria your body may be introduced to.

• Non-Drowsy Dramamine: Motion sickness can happen on boats but also in cars.

• Waterproof Dry Bag: I love having this to throw my wet bathing suits into.

• Laundry Bag: keeping my dirty clothes separated from my clean clothes is mandatory.

• Hand Sanitizer: This was on my list pre covid.

• Water Shoes: Comes in handy for the different terrains.

• Hiking Shoes or Sandals: I personally like sandals so it’s easier to take a quick dip if I wanted to.

• Cash: Some places don’t take credit cards. It’s best to have some cash on you. Even if it’s USD.

• Eco-Friendly Sunscreen: Your skin will thank you later.

• Sunglasses: I like to bring at least two pairs just in case. You also prob won’t want to bring your most expensive ones.

• Hat: I like a wide brim hat or visor. Sometimes I don’t want to wear shades and this comes in handy.

• Light jacket/ umbrella: Weather can be unpredictable at times.

• Shoe bags: I use this in my suitcase but also when I’m going anywhere I know I’m changing shoes. Don’t want mud in my clean bag.
